Annual Family Picnic . August 3, 2024.

SRPCA maintains the 4.5 miles of Slippery Rock Creek. The preservation of our dam and recreational use of the creek is the priority. During June, July, and August, a group of volunteers work together to remove any trees that pose a danger, or are impeding passage of motor boats and non-motorized water craft.
This is a long standing tradition that has been vital to our community. The efforts also help to control flooding and provide wildlife a habitat. The trees are not always completely removed, but pulled against the bank. This provides habitat and also prevent shore erosion.
The Committee meets on the second Saturday in the Spring and Summer months.
The Association is an Adopt a Highway program. We pick up trash on route 8 from Branchton road to the Old Stone House, within the Park, Sanderson road, and if we have enough volunteers we clean up Ralston road. Please consider volunteering! Generally we choose Earth Day weekend for this activity.
Unfortunately, we had to suspend this community project.
